Today is the 1600th anniversary birthday of Venice.
Alot of years maybe in the exact location where now I am writing on a virtual computing keyboard, on that date (march 25 421 a.d.) some ancient ancestors of mine had had the idea… but what idea?
Nobody knows. History is strange matter, it is not only matter of surviving instict to barbaric invasions after the fall of Ancient Roman Empire.
Anyway here are some pictures I took them two weeks ago due to the current pandemic covid-19 lockdown.
The Saint Mark Lion at Venice Arsenal, on the wall a quote by Dante’s Divina Commedia poem.
Saint George island seen at Riva degli Schiavoni

(…it is still 2020)
In this pandemic year it is a very difficult thinking about Halloween,
however here is something you can still come up with.
Taking a cue
from the labyrinthine Venice and the name ancient Venetians gave to
small streets inside the city.
As a semi-professional wanderer in the city I found these locations
interesting and their names matching a halloweenesque feeling,
at least I believe few cities in the world have similar
Alley of Murders (Rio Tera’ dei Assassini)
Bridge of Rippers (Ponte dei Squartai)
Alley of Deads (Calle dei Morti)
i love you all

Walking through Venice after five months of lockdown. I arrived by tram and pleasantly surprised noticed all people with mask anticovid thus they demostranting to be very smart.
Of course the City is not so crowded as during past summers but there’s hope.
