femmes fauves (an intermezzo in the history of arts : petrarca, laura, giorgione and the marquis de sade)

‘Portrait of Laura’ by Giorgione (1506, oil con canvas, 41cm x 33,6 cm, Wien Kunshistorisches Museum). 1506 a dì primo zugno fo fatto questo de man de maistro Zorzi da chastel(francho) cholega de maistro Vizenzo chaena ad istanza de misser (z) giacomo. The young lady called Laura is the same young lady model painted in ‘The Tempest’ (1506). The portrait of Laura painted and signed by Giorgione depicts the woman who was the love of the Italian poet Petrarca.

Francesco Petrarca in his poems describes Laura as Dante did with Beatrice : a pure love. Giorgione painted Laura naked breast with a coat that resembles a more intriguing face of the pure Love. (See also The Tempest the most famous painting by Giorgione.)

The anthropologist Robert Eisler ( in the book Wolf into Man) discovered a parentage with the marquis de Sade. Laura de Sade was the great-grandmother of De Sade. Here is the history of Arts in Europe. Nobody escapes from the mirror of Beauty.

The Lady with Furry Coat is a topic of Wild Woman that embraces so strong his man until take your breath away.
